A few words about the NGI0 Commons Fund
A few words about the NGI0 Commons Fund
The NGI0 Commons Fund is an initiative under the European Commission’s Next Generation Internet program, aimed at supporting the development of digital “commons”: i.e. free and open software/hardware, open standards, data, science, and educational resources.
– It offers R&D grants ranging from €5,000 to €50,000 for initiatives that are consistent with the public nature of the internet.
– In total, it has an active budget of €21.6 million, with an estimated allocation until 2027.
– Grants are accompanied by support services, such as security audits, open licensing, accessibility, etc.
